2. General approach to data processing
ApneaReady is designed so that personal training and health information is processed locally on the user's devices wherever possible.
ApneaReady currently has no user account system and no proprietary backend server used to store personal health, training or profile data. No advertising, tracking or third-party analytics SDKs are currently used.
Certain features use Apple services and the Open-Meteo weather service. These processing activities are described below.
3. Apple Health and HealthKit
If the user explicitly grants access to Apple Health, ApneaReady may read:
- sleep data
- heart rate variability (HRV)
- resting heart rate
- sleeping wrist temperature, where available
- workout information from Apple Health
On a connected Apple Watch, current heart rate may also be read and displayed during a training session.
These data are used to estimate recovery, calculate readiness, provide training and recovery recommendations and display relevant activity information.
ApneaReady does not upload these raw HealthKit readings to its own server.
Values derived from health information, particularly readiness, may be stored locally and transferred to the paired Apple Watch as part of personalized training plans.
Access to Apple Health is only provided after user authorization and can be revoked at any time through the relevant iOS Health and privacy settings.
ApneaReady does not sell health information and does not use health information for advertising, marketing or tracking.
4. Morning Check-In and manually entered information
Users may voluntarily provide subjective information about their current condition, such as energy, stress, physical condition or fatigue.
Individual Morning Check-In answers are not currently retained as separate permanent records. The resulting readiness result and its date may be stored locally.
In Manual mode, additional information such as sleep quality, energy, physical fatigue and the previous day's training may be used to calculate readiness.
5. Training, calibration and performance data
Depending on the features used, ApneaReady may locally store information including:
- completed CO₂ and O₂ training
- Personalized CO₂ training data
- Urge-to-Breathe training data
- Walking Apnea training data
- personal bests
- calibration values
- training duration and round results
- voluntary training feedback
- contraction timestamps
- training history and derived statistics
These data are used solely to provide the training features, personal training history and related ApneaReady functionality.
There is currently no ApneaReady cloud account or proprietary ApneaReady server storing these personal training records.
6. Apple Watch and WatchConnectivity
When ApneaReady is used with Apple Watch, information required for training features is transferred between the iPhone and paired Apple Watch.
This may include:
- training configurations and personalized plans
- personal training reference values
- derived readiness values
- training times and round results
- training feedback
- recorded contraction timestamps
- language settings and training summaries
Transfers use Apple's WatchConnectivity technology between paired devices.
ApneaReady does not operate its own transfer server for this purpose.
7. Location and weather
ApneaReady may use device location to display local weather information on the Home screen.
Location access occurs only after user permission and is requested for use while the app is in use.
Geographic coordinates are transmitted to the Open-Meteo weather service to obtain current weather information:
OpenMeteo GmbH
Hintere Schilligmatte 6
6463 Bürglen (UR)
Switzerland
Open-Meteo states that its free API service may process information such as IP addresses for technical purposes. Web server log files used for troubleshooting may also contain geographic coordinates. According to Open-Meteo, these log files are not shared with third parties and are deleted after 90 days.
Further information:
https://open-meteo.com/en/terms
ApneaReady additionally uses Apple's geocoding service to convert geographic coordinates into a human-readable place name. Location information is therefore submitted to Apple's geocoding service for this purpose.
ApneaReady does not maintain its own persistent database of geographic coordinates.
Location access can be disabled at any time in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security → Location Services.
8. Local storage
ApneaReady stores settings and training, calibration, readiness and statistics information primarily in the protected local application area of the device.
The app currently uses local iOS storage mechanisms including UserDefaults and locally encoded records.
ApneaReady currently does not use CloudKit or a proprietary cloud database to store these personal training records.
The handling of local application data by operating-system backups and restores is determined by the applicable Apple system services and user settings.
9. Analytics, advertising and tracking
ApneaReady currently uses:
- no advertising SDKs
- no tracking SDKs
- no external analytics SDKs
- no advertising identifier (IDFA)
- no AppTrackingTransparency-based advertising tracking
- no advertising profiling
Technical debug output may be generated locally during development. ApneaReady does not operate its own service for uploading these logs.
10. Accounts and payments
ApneaReady currently has no user account or login system.
The first name displayed in the app is entered by the user and stored locally on the device.
The current version does not contain an implemented in-app purchase or subscription system.
11. Audio and media
Training cues, meditations and other audio and video content provided by ApneaReady are currently bundled with the application or generated through Apple system functionality.
No personal audio recordings are created.
Current Recovery content is not streamed from external services such as Spotify.
The meditation “Immersion in Goal Achievement” by Kristina Malinovskaya, included in ApneaReady, was provided by the author with her express permission for use within the ApneaReady application.
12. Data deletion
ApneaReady does not operate its own server containing user accounts or personal training profiles.
Personal training, readiness, calibration and settings information is primarily stored locally on the relevant device.
When the app is deleted, local data belonging to the app container is generally removed by the operating system. Data on a separately installed or paired Apple Watch may be managed separately. System backups and later restoration are subject to Apple's services and settings.
Information already contained in Apple Health is not part of ApneaReady's local database and is not deleted when ApneaReady is removed.
Apple Health and location permissions can be revoked at any time through the relevant iOS settings.
13. Data protection rights
Where personal data is processed in connection with this website or external services, data subjects have the rights provided by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including, where the legal requirements are met, rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection.
Data subjects also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data protection supervisory authority.

14. Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated if ApneaReady's functionality, services used or applicable legal requirements change.
