Terms of Use & Safety

By using ApneaReady, you agree to these Terms of Use. Please read the safety information carefully before performing any breath-hold or freediving training.

1. Purpose of ApneaReady

ApneaReady supports the planning, performance and documentation of freediving and breath-hold training, as well as recovery and personal training observation.

Readiness values, training recommendations, statistics and other assessments are provided solely as supportive information for your personal training.

ApneaReady is not a medical diagnostic or treatment tool and does not replace medical advice, examination or treatment.

2. Personal responsibility

You decide whether and how to perform a suggested training session.

A high Readiness value or training recommendation does not mean that a particular activity is medically or physically safe for you.

Always adapt your training to your actual condition, experience and current environment.

If you have health concerns, uncertainty or unusual symptoms, do not train and seek medical advice where appropriate.

3. Breath-hold and freediving safety

Breath-holding and freediving can involve serious risks, including loss of consciousness.

Never train alone in the water.

Breath-hold and freediving training in water must only be performed with appropriate supervision and an attentive, suitably prepared buddy.

Avoid hyperventilation before breath-holding.

Stop a training session if you feel dizzy, disoriented, unusually weak or unwell.

Do not ignore warning signs from your body in order to achieve a prescribed time, distance or personal best.

4. Walking Apnea

Walking Apnea in ApneaReady is intended only for controlled training on land.

Perform Walking Apnea only on a flat, clear and safe route without traffic, stairs or other obstacles.

Never perform Walking Apnea in water.

Stop immediately if you feel dizzy, unstable, disoriented or unwell.

Calibration and training should remain controlled and comfortable and are not intended as maximal performance attempts.

5. Training values and personal bests

Training times, calibration values, personal bests and training suggestions derived from them are intended to support individual training.

They do not guarantee a particular performance and do not assess your medical or physical fitness.

Personal bests should never be pursued at the expense of safety.

6. Apple Health and Apple Watch

Data from Apple Health and Apple Watch may support personal training information and Readiness calculations in ApneaReady.

Sensor and health data may be incomplete, delayed or inaccurate.

Do not make safety-critical decisions solely on the basis of a single measurement or an ApneaReady assessment.

7. Availability and development

ApneaReady is continuously developed.

Features, training models and content may be changed, added or removed.

Continuous, uninterrupted or error-free availability cannot be guaranteed.

8. Changes to these terms

These Terms may be updated as ApneaReady develops or as legal or technical requirements change.

The current version will be published on this website.
